The old town is dominated by a steep rocky ridge topped by a Tibetan-style palace and fort.<br \/>Below, the bustling bazaar area is packed with souvenir shops. \/>I recommend taking DIAMOX as a preventive measure against altitude sickness.<br \/>Take one tablet the day before.<br \/>Then afterwards, depending on how your body reacts.<br \/>Also, on the first
